Rios de la Vida fountain is a landmark fountain welcoming the public to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California.

 

Commissioned by the AOP to fix and enhance their front entry fountain, I conceptualized, designed and modeled a ceramic mural overlay, a rocky river bed and a new decorative railing to celebrate the wildlife of the past and the present of the Los Angeles River ecosystem. 

 

The mural was produced and installed by a local ceramic artist team, Theodora Kurkchiev and Dimitri Lazaroff of TND Studio, Inc. in San Pedro, CA, under my art direction.
