One of my proposals accepted for the Sun City Lights wildlife series is The Prickly Pear, inspired by the native plant abundant in the desert surrounding El Paso.

As the other sculptures in the series, The Prickly Pear drastically transforms between day and night with both internal and external theatrical lighting.

The pavement pattern surrounding all of the three sculptures reflects the Hueco's tanks rock formations collecting the life-giving water.

One of the wildlife concepts for the  the Sun City Lights proposal in El Paso, TX celebrated the iconic fields of wildflower poppies. The light fixtures transformed during the day cycle with the use of shadow and light. At night they featured colorful projections of playful and beautiful flower patterns overlapping each other to create a colorful, giant light carpet installation.
